As you know Sam and Sally are my pair of geese. If you look back in my blog you will see my first post on them in 2009. Sally has been laying eggs again. She has a nest in the barn BUT she never puts her nest where it is out of the way of the sheep. About 3:30 this morning the geese started making all this noise and I got up to see what the problem was. I could see the geese and everything looked fine. I got up 4 times after that from their noise thinking some animal was trying to get them. Finally at 6:30 a.m. I got up put my barn clothes on and went out to look in the barn. She was standing in the barn where all the sheep were peacefully resting. When she seen me she went back out with Sam and stood there. I looked over the fence and one of my ewes and her lambs where laying so close to her nest she couldn't get to it. SHE WAS MAD ! So I had to disrupt the sheep and get them away from the nest . She immediately went to the pond and got all wet again and and marched back to the barn very fussed and got on her nest and all calm came to the barn yard once again.
That is one of the funniest events to happen on my farm. In the mean time she had kept me awake half of the night
