Visiting My Friend Lavonne in Belgrade, Montana

While in Montana in August I also visited my friend Lavonne , who lives in Belgrade , Montana. She has a sweet little farm where she raises her own meat , has chickens, eggs, a goat she milks and many other farm animals. What a great day we had there. Lavonne also rents out 2 Sheepherder Wagons for people to stay in. So of course I was not going to pass that up. What a fun time we had. Lavonne also fixed us a wonderful dinner. We just didn't have enough time to really get a good visit in.
Somehow I forgot to post this last year  and it was so much fun I wanted you to see it.

A beautiful sunset while we were there.

Thanksgiving 2014

.
We had 18 people here this year. I set 2 tables in the living room, our dining room has become to small for us. It worked great. However I forgot to take any pictures while we were eating, LOL. The only one I have is what I am posting. It was a great time. There was so much to eat and it was all so good
Our precious little great granddaughter, Addilynne, was here this year. She will be 1 year old the last day of December.

Well Its Been A Long Time

I see it has been almost a year since I posted on my blog. I have had a hectic year but hopefully everything is better and I am on a good road again. I have so many wonderful friends and family that have held me up through all of this with my surgery for my face. It is healing fine and it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. THANK YOU  so much.

August in Eureka, Montana

We went to visit my brother in Eureka, Montana. It is just a beautiful place to live. I also went to a quilt show while I was there. The show is all outdoors . Quilts are hung all up and down the main street and only street of the town. They are also hung in the historical village at the end of town. Very fun.

There are deer everywhere.
Wonderful old building. I wished I knew what it was used for.
They have lakes everywhere and they are all very pretty
Same lake , My husband, Bill, on left and my brother Mike. He would make a good Santa with that beard, LOL
One of the many quilts at the show. I love sunflowers.

We had a great time. Only 7 miles from the Canadian border. Beautiful country.

More of Summer , Fall and Winter

A vintage bathroom sink from an old hotel in Tacoma. I have had it for many years.
I planted it with Double Petunias. It really looked cool.
This is a little planter by my yard pond. It looked so pretty this year
Zinnias by my back door. They were like little jewels that just kept blooming. First time for planting them and I will for sure have more next spring. I grew them from seed.

Some of My Needle Work

One of many blocks I am making for a class I took called  "Roses for Remembrance "It was taught by my good friend Jeannie Austin. The most awesome quilter I have ever known

This quilt I made for my daughter, Jenny. It took me forever to get it finished. It is called " Nosegay " or " Bridal Bouquet " It is all hand quilted.
A needle case I made for an exchange in my Comforters Quilt Group
A wool piece I made last year. All made out of Recycled Wool. It now belongs to my granddaughter Megan
Another wool piece I made from recycled Wool and Cotton fabric. This also belongs now to my granddaughter Megan. Old buttons are used for the center of the flowers

My Dahlias

Every year I get a few more dahlia tubers. These are 4 of my prettiest ones. My daughter has a huge Dahlia bed and she has all different kinds . These beautiful flowers give us both a lot of pleasure.

As The Year Goes On, From June To December

Asparagus the neighbor guy and I canned. He wanted to learn to can. We had a really fun time . We used 2 different recipes and they both turned out really good
My garlic I planted in the fall of 2012. This picture was early spring of 2013 .

This is around July. Looking good. I planted the garlic in this container this year because I needed to rearrange my garden but it is planted for 2014 back in the garden. It actually did pretty well.
The beginning of the 2013 garden. We added a fence around the garden this year to keep the sweet little ducks out of it. They are really good for slugs BUT they also love nice tender little cabbage and onion plants
My wonderful garden at it's best. I had a beautiful garden this year

Bill finally got our flag pole up and it is beautiful

My pair of guineas with there brood this year. I think there was around 20 babies. They look just like little bumble bees when they are born. Very tiny

I planted my potatoes in buckets this year. They did really well and because I don't have room in my garden I will be planting them in buckets this next year.
The sheep are ready to be sheared

Toni is my Sheep Shearer. He has been shearing sheep for many years and has sheared for the real big flocks.

             He is semi retired now.
I enjoy watching Toni shear and he is fast. He is a good man
